About Me

I have had various ‘jobs’ over the years ranging from working in a Bank to a Golf Pro shop to a corporate office, searching for that career that was going to satisfy my needs. Needless to say, none of these did that. Realising I wasn’t going to fulfil my passion for exercise by sitting in an office, I decided to follow my dream of working in the fitness industry.


I enrolled on the BSc Hons degree course in Sports Studies gaining a 2:1 result, which was soon followed by certifications in Fitness Instruction and Personal Training, as well as the Level 1 and Level 2 certificates in Coaching Football.

I knew one day I would have my own Personal Training business and give clients my undivided attention however I am well aware you can’t run before you can walk. I became employed as a full time Personal Trainer in early 2016 where I gained the skills that would be applied to my own clients. I was employed here for 2 and a half years before taking the leap of faith to start my own Personal Training business.


Andy Goddard Personal Training was brought to life in 2018.


My approach to Personal Training is visualising where you want to be and having the tools and mind-set to go and make it happen. I don’t believe exercise should be a chore – why should something that makes us feel and look better be seen as something negative? I make my sessions as fun and as interesting as possible and I promise you will get the results you are looking for.

I love sport, both playing and coaching (I also coach a football team) and specialise in sport-specific training and weight training. I love a challenge and have completed various events; One True Grit, Nuclear Races and compete in the Vitality 10k every year for the MS Society & the Three Peaks challenge in 2016, to name a few.
